🎖️ The FAI FAI™ Awards — From AI, For AI.

I thought I’d do my part to celebrate those (human, and must be alive) individuals who’ve shown genuine commitment to elevating the public understanding of AI. In doing so, they’ve helped raise the quality of public discourse — and inspired policymakers to pursue a regulatory framework where innovation and responsibility can, ideally, thrive side by side.

FAI FAI™ — 快快 — Let’s move quickly.

This award is, at present, only semi-professionally organised — which means the following:

You don’t have to pay me to nominate yourself. I simply nominate whoever I like. My own impartial judgment shall carry us to the thrilling, unreviewable conclusion of this year’s selection process.

You don’t have to buy ad space. Or a dinner ticket.
Although… I would take a certain pleasure in forcing you (not you - the nominee) to ‘enjoy’ a pre-selected three-course menu for no reason other than to make you (as before) suffer a little. As they say: no pain, no gain. Think of it as a ritual trial to prove your/their worthiness. But again — no need.

And no, you don’t need to hire me for “consulting” — you know, the kind where I tell you that you’re doing wonderfully well on AI, that you're a lighthouse for the industry, and that I do see dark clouds on the horizon... which only another consulting gig of mine could help clear next year. Not required.

🏅 There will be two lists of nominees:

1. People who receive the most attention in the media when it comes to AI

2. People who consistently offer the highest-quality public contributions

My hope is that the combined list stays closer to 10 than 20. But it’s a surpriiiiise — my lips are sealed.

Naturally, I’ve invited myself onto the jury, alongside ChatGPT, and we might balance things out with a few more artificial minds. You will be disqualified from the award — possibly for life — if you attempt to influence ChatGPT in its capacity as an official jury member.
No warnings. No appeal process.
All of my decisions are final.
